I spent my high school years with Marilynn.  Even though we have lost touch through the years, I am very sad that part of my youth is gone.

Marilyn Citron

Early in our freshman year at Mumford, I moved across the street from the Colton’s. Through the years, Marilynn and I spent time enjoying a variety of activities that created many warm memories. From the beginning, Marilynn was Marilynn number 1; I was Marilyn number 2. I’m unsure if that designation was due to the differences in our height or because she lived in the neighborhood longer than I did. I’d like to share some of my memories: Whenever we went out to dinner, she always brought a doggie bag home for one of her Doberman pinchers. I remember Marilynn beautifully playing Chopin etudes and preludes on their piano in the living room. Our confirmation parties were on the same night, and friends crossed the street to attend both events. Marilynn kept me moving while training for my first walking marathon; I had to double my steps to keep up with her long legs. And many more delightful hours spent together. Marilynn was kind, generous, intelligent, and fun to be with. Although we haven’t spent much time together in recent years, I was lucky to run into her at a restaurant a few months ago and enjoyed catching up.  Friday morning, I was shocked and saddened to read about her passing. Rest in peace my friend.
