Joel and I went way back to Vernor Elementary. He was tall and swarthy, even then. When I was 13, he hosted a birthday party for me and I still have the gift, a boxed set of An American in Paris, from the movie with Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron. I still have those 78's! My heart misses him!
Joel and I have been business partners since 1970. As time went on we became closer then ever. He had tireless energy and survived a stroke over 20 years ago. He was like the energizer bear. Nothing could stop him. He endured over 700 dialasys sessions in the last 6 years and still got alot done.
I remember a WSU public speaking class we took together, Joel and I were voted the best speakers to represent the class in a contest. Several couples including Joel and Lori were social friends in the sixties. All the couples divorced about 16 years later, but Joel and Lori lasted forever. My daughters are still in touch with their daughter Phyllis. Sorry for the loss, we once had great fun together.
