I did not know Carl that well in HS, but got to know him quite well in Engineering school at WSU - especially in our first year where we shared several classes and did homework together. We had an evening drafting class together along with Shel Dolivek (who also passed away). After a full day of other classes,we would meet for supper at a close by diner. After eating, go to the 3 hour class, then many times I would drive Carl home after class getting to know him quite well, at that time. I believe he was also in AFROTC with me. He certainly was quite the guy everyone describes. I have never attended a reunion, but if I did, he was near the top of my list of people to see and talk to. Sorry I missed you Carl.
I just read about Carl and feel so very sad. We were at Hally Elementary School together also and I have such fond and wonderful memories of him. I will really miss seeing him at our next reunion. He was a special, kind, human being..a mensch.
Carl was a wonderful person. I don't think anyone would have an unkind word to say about him. A gentleman. Not only did he come to the Mumford Reunions but also attended our Hally grade school reunions that were held in the afternoon, Carl was on Facebook. I don't know if the page is still up but I was able to send my condolences to his family through his Facebook page.
He was my 'seatmate' in Eva Marie VanHouten's Eng.Lit. class senior year. What a fine, bright. kind human being he was. It was a treat to reconnectwith him at our reunions!
Have wonderful memories of Carl from Elementary through Mumford High. He was a first crush and of course my hero in the school musical. Rest in peace old friend.
I absolutely adored Carl. From the first grade at Hally through college at Wayne, he was such a special friend. Any memory of my childhood brings back a memory of Carl. How very sad that this wonderful man is lost to us. Then again, he can be found in our minds and our hearts.
Sixty one years ago...I went to our Junior prom with Carl....we cheered him on the football field....studied together, enjoyed lots of fun times. I am sorry he has passed, with such a wonderful heart he should have lived to be a hundred.

We graduated 58 years ago and Carls personality is still with me. He was a great guy. I am sure he continued to be that his whole life.

All my memories of Carl were quite wonderful. I always held him in high regard. He was a gentleman even as a teenager.
